SARA’S KITCHEN & KINGSWAY ESTATES

We had been living in Saudi Arabia for a number of years when it felt right to seek an alternative way of life. In truth Sara is a beautiful, sexy lady and I fancied living with her in a less restrictive environment.

A little www research led us to think of buying a café/bar in Spain and it was with the greatest good fortune that we happened across the Kingsway Estate’s website.

Prior to a fact finding trip in July 2006 Sam & Karl at Kingsway had provided details of a number of likely properties that Karl showed us (at leg wearying speed!) on our first day. We fell in love with Fuengirola and each time we drive into the town we feel as though we’re coming home.

Unfortunately we spent too long thinking about one possibility before discounting it because of its apparent lack of potential. However, we returned in October and – with Karl – revisited one of the possibilities seen earlier. Our second visit persuaded us that this was the place for us and that it was better than we had remembered.

Terms were agreed and Kingsway were able to negotiate a completion date in January 2007 to give us time to settle matters in Saudi.

We were very fortunate that just before the transfer of the lease was completed we were introduced to Russ Aut who carried out refurbishment of the café to our requirements and has now become our bar manager & head cook.

As I write this we’ve been open for two weeks. Trade has been very quiet – everybody tells us that February is the worst month of the year – but we are confident that we have the cleanest and “prettiest” café/bar in Fuengirola. We are confident, too, of the future.

There is no doubt that we owe much to Kingsway. Sam & Karl have ‘held our hands’ throughout the purchase process and we cannot praise the service and assistance given too highly.

To anybody contemplating a similar venture we say “use a good and trustworthy agent such as Kingsway and beware the numerous ‘cowboys’”
